Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, is a geological wonder that was created by a volcanic explosion some 640,00 years ago. What resulted from that event is a glorious landscape that includes gushing geysers, multicolored hot springs, canyons, waterfalls, fumaroles, mudspots and wildlife that is beyond compare. Yellowstone National Park is historic as it was the world’s first national park in 1872.

One of the most famous spots in Yellowstone National Park is the Old Faithful Geyser, which is one of the most predictable geysers in the park. The Old Faithful Inn is a hotel located with a great view of the popular Old Faithful. This Inn is one of the few original log inns remaining in America with its famous gnarled log architecture.

The dinning room at the Old Faithful Inn offers some pretty decent fare. They have a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner but also offer a la carte options.

The dinner buffet offers a really good prime rib. They also have smoked red pepper soup which was really good. Other dishes included baked potato, green beans, fried cauliflower and so on. The offerings are not very extensive. The star of the show is the prime rib and the rest of it is quite mediocre.

I ordered a shrimp linguine from the a la carte menu and it was unbelievably bad. I couldn’t fathom how they could mess up such a basic dish. I think the best dinning option here is the buffet.

Here is some of what we ate:
