Disclaimer: I was invited as a guest to this establishment for a complimentary meal. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.

In the midst of Queens, lies a little vegetarian oasis, owned and run by Shashanka Karlen who is part of the community of devotees of the Late Sri Chinmoy.

The Oneness-Fountain-Heart Restaurant is a world away from the bustling busyness of life. Step into this charming café decorated in calming blues and the outside world just melts away.

There is a palpable higher consciousness here both in the people and the food. The servers here feel like friends. Nobody is in a rush to get your order or turn the table. There is a wonderful warmth and sense of peace amongst all here.

At the Oneness-Fountain-Heart Restaurant there is a dedication to conscious living and healthy eating. They use the freshest of ingredients and organic as much as possible as they prepare their dishes.

The menu offers a vibrant variety of eclectic globally inspired dishes. We were treated to a veritable feast at dinner and I have to say that everything I tried was very good but some were just spectacular.

My personal favorites were the “Magic Mushrooms” which are just delicious, the “Pad Thai” which is a raw/vegan dish which knocked my socks off and the “Zucchini Roll Up” which was stunning!

They serve a lot of “faux meat” dishes here. I actually really like that I can have vegetarian bacon or chicken that tastes so good. I loved their whole grain bread and herbed butter too. Do save room for dessert. I think that their “Tiramisú” is amongst one of the best I have had – really home-style and delectable.

You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu since everything is made with such pure intention and love.

The Oneness-Fountain-Heart Restaurant is a truly unique place to take a break at, uplift your spirits, calm your soul and fill your belly – all at the same time.
