Azerbaijan House, Brooklyn, NYC

We chanced to eat at Azerbaijan House in Sheepshead Bay. This spot serves Uzbek and European food too. However we decided to stick to the Azerbaijani offerings.

Having eaten an outstanding Azerbaijani meal at “The Village Café”, I have to say that my expectations were very high. We began with a hot bowl of “Meat Dussbera” simply flavored with some fresh dill.

My favorite dish was the “kuku” which is a mix of greens, eggs, potato, onions and nuts, which is pan fried and served in wedges.

Azerbaijan House has that home-style feel. The menu is rather vast and a bit confusing with a mix of regional cuisines. It’s best to stick to the dishes the spot is named after. The food isn’t outstanding by any standards but did serve our purposes well for that day.
