Casa Tua, is a delightful Italian-style eatery in the heart of South Beach, which is set in a gorgeous Mediterranean-style house/ hotel. This restaurant flows through various parts of the house, where each area is decorated with intimate elegance. We dined in the charming outdoor garden area. Read the rest of this entry

Special notes: Afternoon Tea is served daily in The Palm Court from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.
Tea at the Plaza Hotel sounds like the quintessential New York thing to do. Throw Eloise into the mix and you’ve got a giddy group of excited little girls.
So off we went to the Plaza hotel for the special Eloise Tea at The Palm Court and a visit to the Eloise boutique.
We couldn’t have been more disappointed!

Charlie Palmer’s newly re launched, flagship restaurant, Aureole is housed near bustling Times Square, between the Bank of America and Condé Nast buildings.
Aureole’s most recent avatar is quite a ways away from the cozy townhouse setting of its yesteryear’s. This high ceiling, glass encased, modern setting; dedicates more of its space to the informal Bar Room, than the much smaller dinning room at the back. Read the rest of this entry
The word gorgeous comes to mind when I think of my experience at BOND ST.
Gorgeous space, gorgeous people and gorgeous food!
Craftbar is Tom Colicchio’s informal eatery where Chef Lauren Hirschberg’s menu offers an array of seasonal dishes. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced from farms in the NY/ NJ area.
This two-tiered space is huge and very industrial looking. It’s a crowded, cacophonous place, which provides an ideal setting to meet up with a group of friends but not the setting for an intimate meal.
The menu offers a huge variety of choices in many different categories such as Raw/Cured/Marinated, Fried, Cheese, Bruschetta, Charcuterie, Panini and so on. It makes it really easy to pick what you are in the mood for.
There are many creative combinations of food (and some are just plain hard to understand!). The food is interesting but it’s really nothing quite that spectacular.

Dévi is the home of artful forms of Pan-Indian cuisine created by two Indian super chefs and co-founders, Suvir Saran and Hemant Mathur (who has since left to open his own restaurant – Tulsi).
Over the years, Devi has managed to create quite a buzz as being one of the “it” Indian restaurants in New York City. Its one of those hot Indian food spots one goes to where you get (and pay for) more than an “Indian buffet’ experience.
The chefs are certainly masters of their craft but the food to me was temperamental. Some dishes were stunners like the Tandoori Prawns with crispy okra salad, the Tandoor Grilled Halibut and the Corn Chaat. Read the rest of this entry

Mesa Grill definitely has Bobby Flays signature stamp on it. There is a distinct flair in the dishes that showcase his bold use of Southwestern accented spices and sauces.

There’s a wonderful reason to take a break from the galleries at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.
Danny Meyer’s Bar Room at The Modern, serves superb Alsatian-inspired cuisine by Gabriel Kreuther with desserts by Pastry Chef Marc Aumont.

I recommend: Albacore Tuna with Ponzu, Blue Fin Tuna and Chu Toro, Grilled Butterfish with Teriyaki Sauce, Crab Roll
Every once in a while …along comes a meal that you just can’t get over.
You find yourself daydreaming about the softness of the ponzu laced Toro or the tantalizing taste of the hot teriyaki butterfish that dissolved in your mouth within seconds.
The flavors you experienced, the textures, the pure artistry of the meal just linger on your lips and clings to your senses.
That is what the Sasabune experience is!

The brothers Bromberg have created quite an empire with their brand of restaurants in New York City. It all began with Blue Ribbon in 1992.
Le Cordon Bleu trained, the brothers found early inspiration from their father and grandmother who loved food and travel. Read the rest of this entry

The Spice Route journeys from the Malabar Coast in Kerela, India to the ends of South East Asia touching on the tastes and flavors along the way.
Set in the gorgeous Imperial Hotel, the restaurant Spice Route has been designed by Rajeev Sethi. It was painstakingly created over a period of 7 years. Based on the principles of Feng –Sui, the space is filled with striking, intricate elements, antiques and details from all over South East Asia. The results are quite stunning and really worth experiencing.
