Devigarh Fort Palace is a beautiful retreat, set in the picturesque Aravalli hills of Rajasthan. It is about 30 kilometers away from Udaipur. Devigarh Fort was built in the 18th century and recently opened as a heritage hotel after years of restoration.
The restaurant at Devigarh offers magnificent views of the countryside. The menu is eclectic where they offer all kinds of cuisines from traditional Indian to Continental and Asian dishes. The food was temperamental. Some dishes were very good like the fish curry and the chicken sandwich whilst others like the Lal Maas and other rotis (breads) were terribly disappointing.
One does pay a pretty price for a meal at Devigarh but it does offer a nice respite from a hard day of sightseeing. Dinning at Devigarh provides a perfect venue to spend a romantic evening of cocktails and dinner, soaking in the breathtaking beauty of Rajasthan.
Here is some of what we ate:
BREADSTICKS AND DIP
FRIED PAPADS
CHICKEN CORN SOUP
LAAL MAAS
DEVIGARH CLUB SANDWICH
PEELI MIRCHI KI MACCHI ( FISH WITH CHILI)
