Dishes not to miss: Lobster Roll, Shrimp Roll, Crab Roll
Luke Holden is the grand master of the lobster roll.
Born and raised in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Luke grew up surrounded by the freshest of seafood as his father owned and ran a seafood processing company. Luke sources his seafood from the family business and that ensures using the best quality meats for his rolls.
Luke’s Lobster has three location now in Manhattan and they do the rounds of street fair such as Hester Street on the weekends. The menu is straightforward and offers lobster, crab or shrimp rolls, seafood chowders, Miss Vickies chips, Maine root sodas and whoopie pies.
What I love about the rolls at Lukes is the simplicity of it. It’s all about the using the freshest of seafood and dressing it with the most minimal of flavorings. A little butter to warm the roll, a splash of mayo and their “secret spices” to garnish the seafood – that’s it.
That’s what makes rolls at Luke’s Lobster the very best!
