Must try: White Chocolate Ganache, Strawberry Rhubarb, Dark Chocolate
What is more enticing than perfect rows of pastel delights? These sweet treats can make anyone giddy with glee!
Macaron Café in Midtown is husband/wife team Cecile and Arnaud Cannone’s charming little ode to the French Macron.
The Café houses at least 50 different varieties of macarons displayed in a huge glass case. One can order coffee/ tea and from a limited menu of French styled sandwiches and salads. Seating is limited but I wouldn’t want to stay in any case given the surprisingly cold and brusque service at the counter!
The macarons, on the other hand, definitely are worthy of a nod. My favorites were the “White Chocolate Ganache, The Raspberry and the Chocolate”. The black sesame and salted caramel lacked depth of flavor.
So, if you find yourself wandering around the Midtown East area, craving something sweet – Macaron Café might be a destination that you would want to meander over to.
Here is some of what we ate:
Caramel “Fleur De Sel”
Creme Brulee
Dark Chocolate
Pistachio
Raspberry
White Chocolate Ganache
Tahini Sesame
