Oh what a night!
This past week on Wednesday, February 20th, 2013, I was invited to cover a progressive dinner party hosted by ELLE DECOR, House Beautiful, VERANDA and Jenn-Air at the Hearst’s Designer Visions show house featuring three stunning apartments in Tribeca.
Celebrity Chef Alex Hitz, House Beautiful’s new food contributor and author of best-selling cookbook My Beverly Hills Kitchen, prepared a fabulous three-course dinner on state of the art Jenn-Air appliances.
The evening began with hors d’oeuvres in the House Beautiful apartment, continued on to dinner in the VERANDA apartment, and concluded with dessert in the ELLE DECOR apartment. Everything about the evening was perfect – from the gorgeous setting to the wonderful food.
Chef Alex Hitz served his delectable Southern fare with a French twist with endearing grace and charm. Each course was prepared with great care and thought – for a foodie like me – it was heaven! Chef Hitz was a true delight! I can’t wait to try his recipes from his new cookbook.
The kicker was dessert where Jacques Torres entertained the crowds with his animated antics as he prepared his famous hot chocolate in the ELLE DECOR apartment.
I spent an incredible evening eating beautiful food, in a gorgeous space filled with extraordinary people. I can’t wait till the next time!
