Must try: Peach Cobbler, Salted Caramel Butterscotch, Crème Brûlée, Chocolate Eclair
Move over people – there’s a new cupcake champion in town.
Molly’s cupcakes, a Chicago-based confectionery might just be some of the best cupcakes New York City has to offer right now. It’s my favorite for sure (other than the Brooklyn blackout at Two Little Red Hens– of course).
What makes Molly’s unique?
Taste wise – I always go for the chocolate cupcakes but at Molly’s I cant keep my hands the Peach Cobbler, Crème Brûlée, or the butterscotch caramel and not to mention the chocolate raspberry!
I love that they offer an amazing variety of center filled and regular cupcakes that actually taste good. You can even build your own cupcake.
Everything about Molly’s is delightful. From the retro schoolhouse décor replete with swings at the counter to the board games one can pull out and play with.
John Nicolaides, Molly’s Cupcakes founder, named the bakery after his third-grade teacher Molly who used to bake cupcakes for her students on their birthdays. A percentage of their profits go towards helping out schools in the local community.
Now how can something that comes from such an inspired space be anything less than stellar?
