Must try: Burrito with habanero sauce and quesadilla
Finally – one can actually get a decent burrito fairly easily in New York City – thanks to the Kremers brothers.
Originally, from San Francisco, Leo and Oliver found a dearth of authentic taqueria food in NYC and decided to do something about it. They started Dos Toros which now has several outlets in the city.
The formula used by the brothers is very simple. They use fresh, high quality ingredients that are locally sourced to maximize flavors. Their tortillas come from Tortilleria Nixtamal tortillas in Corona, Queens which makes some of the best in the city.
The menu is at Dos Toros is short and to the point. It allows the customer to craft a burrito, taco or a quesadilla with spare offerings made fresh and from scratch. Watch out for their habanero sauce – wow that thing is scorching hot and outstanding! The chicken quesadilla is one of the best I have had!
All I can say is – gracias Dos Toros!
