The Moon restaurant is an extremely popular vegetarian food spot which was started by the current owner’s uncle. Located just North of the Ananda temple, this spot offers a nice respite from the hot daytime sun.
The menu at Moon is rather extensive offering plenty of local choices and other western and Asian dishes too.
I recommend trying the local food. The vegetables are super fresh and the curries and sauces they are cooked in a very tasty.
Do try the local brown sticky rice – its yum as is the spicy veg chapatti.
Eats are really cheap and the owner is super friendly, chatty and extremely proud of running such a wonderful spot. Don’t forget to try the tiny disc like tamarind sweets – they give you just the right amount of zing in your mouth.
