Neta offers a little taste of Masa without the exorbitant price tag.
This downtown sushi spot was started by two ex- Masa Chefs Nik Kim and Jimmy Lau, who trained under the tutelage of the ultimate sushi master Masa Takayama.
Housed in Spartan but neat digs, Neta offers an innovative menu that sources a good part of its fish from “local” waters.
Some of the dishes at Neta stand out such as the Toro Tartar & Caviar or the Hamachi with Spiced Potato Threads. The way to go is with the omakase, which is priced at 95/ 135/225.
Neta is definitely worth a visit and has managed to carve its own niche in New York’s sushi scene.
