Thailand might be one of the best food destinations in the world (for me at least)!
Bangkok is a bustling city, teeming with beautiful sights, wonderful people and the most amazing food.
Wherever you go in Bangkok, you encounter countless choices of what to eat. The malls offer innumerable options of all kinds of cuisine. You can sit down, take it to go, eat in the food court – any which way you like.
Over the past few years, I have found a tremendous decline of good local Thai cuisine being offered in the malls. There seem to be many Japanese and American style restaurants. This is a very disappointing trend because I remember years ago the food courts had really great local Thai food but in my opinion its really not worth eating at the malls anymore. The food is subpar at best.
The place to really eat in Bangkok is really on the streets. Anywhere you go, you cant miss the abundance of street hawkers selling really delicious eats. Everything from noodle soups to curries to satays to papaya salad is available at every nook and cranny on the streets of Bangkok.
The best of what I tried on the streets was the Pad Thai at Thip Samai and the Pad Khee mao and Raad Naa at Raan Jai Fai’s.
I can still taste all those flavors and I dream of going back to Bangkok just to re-experience that and more again.
