I was recently invited to attend the Pepcid/ Eater Tastemaker press event with Chopped star Ted Allen at the brand new digs of Pok Pok Ny in Brooklyn.
This media event showcased a specially curated menu of authentic Northern accented Thai dishes. Chef Andy Ricker’s award-winning culinary team presented us with multiple courses of truly delightful street style eats.
We started with cocktails at the Whiskey Soda Lounge across the street and eventually made our way to the snug new quarters of Pok Pok Ny where the ultra charming Ted Allen – host of Food Network’s “Chopped” regaled us with his wit and humor.
We then were led to our tables where the feasting and communing with other foodies began.
The flavors of the dishes presented to us hit almost every taste bud I posses. The heat was turned on in some dishes such as the ever popular “Ikes Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings” and the “ Plaa Neung Bui”, which had a good measure of chili thrown in.
It’s a good thing that we had Pepcid within reach at all times!
I spent a wonderful evening eating fabulous food and making friends with amazing people. Thank you Pepcid, Eater, Pok Pok Ny and Hunter Public Relations for inviting me to this awesome event.
A huge shout-out to my tremendous table of press – Big Apple Nosh, Bite of the Best, Joanna Prisco , Find Your Crave, Sara Bonisteel and Chasing James Beard .
