For over two decades, Mathsya located near the Egmore railway station, has been serving up authentic Udidpi cuisine to loyal customers who keep coming back for more.
Mathsya might be one of one of the oldest Udidpi restaurants in Chennai and their food is just spectacular. The menu consists of the usual mash-up of South Indian, Chinese, Tandoori food but what’s really worth trying is their Udipi offerings.
There are Mathsya specials such as the “Raja Raja Chola Dosa”, the “Methi Dosa” and so on. You must try their Chili Cheese Toast – which was surprisingly excellent and no meal is complete without trying their famous Mangalore Bonda which tastes like a fried paniyaram.
Any dosa you try will be excellent – my favorite though was the “Methi” dosa which was perfectly crisped and served with a flavorful sambar and chutneys. No meal is complete without the famous Mysore filter coffee which is a perfect way to end this amazing meal.
