What an apt name for a restaurant as the one thing that all Punjabis love to do is eat – and eat you will at Punjabi By Nature.
The first of these extremely popular restaurants opened in Noida in 2002. It has since expanded to 4 other locations.
The cuisine served at Punjabi By Nature is the typical North West Frontier kind of food. Lots of kababs and butter and cream laden curry dishes make for a really heavy but satisfying meal.
They have a few signature dishes such as the Gol Guppa Shots, Raan-e-Punjab and the Flambé Gulab Jamuns, which are very popular.
The food is decent and the digs are nice. All of this makes for a good enough experience.
Here is some of what we ate:
KASTOORI KEBAB
This was an outstanding kabab. It was marinated with very tasty spices and then char grilled. Its a must try!
RAAN-E-PUNJAB
This whole leg of baby lamb is marinated in malt vinegar, cinnamon and black cumin and then cooked in a tandoor. It was good but considering it’s their signature dish –I wasn’t blown away by it.
MURGH MAKHANI
I was very disappointed in their butter chicken (or Murgh Makhani). I remember trying this dish at their Noida location some time ago where I thought it was really good.
PEELI DAAL TADKA
This was a tasty, spicy thick yellow lentil dish that went really well with the rotis (breads).
ROTI/ PARATHAS
