Castle Hotel & Spa is one of the most wonderful getaway spots that lies just thirty minutes away from the city. This lush sanctuary of luxury sits atop a gorgeous hill in Westchester County overlooking several acres of beautiful greenery and the splendid Hudson River.
The Castle Hotel & Spa is housed in a medieval styled building, which has at least 100 years of history. The hotel offers high end, lavish guestrooms and suites and rolling grounds of beautifully manicured gardens with several nooks and corners to disappear into for the ultimate relaxation and romance.
The Castle is home to a brand new oasis of tranquility at its THANN™ Sanctuary Spa (which is very well known in Asia) offers a wide variety of luxurious spa treatments based on the art of natural therapy.
I was recently invited to experience this outstanding spa along with dinner at their award-winning restaurant, Equus which features unique Auberge-style natural French cuisine based on locally sourced ingredients.
I was amongst a wonderful group of bloggers/ friends – Sachiko from Cutie Patroller, Eva from Rockshic and Yumi Kim, who shared this glorious “Spa Day” and dinner with me.
The THANN Sanctuary Spa is a really perfect place to unwind at. Aside from a full menu of holistic treatments, it features amenities such as steam room, whirlpool, relaxation lounges, and a private VIP treatment room. I opted for the Swedish massage with Herbal Compress and a Body Scrub. We spent a lovely afternoon being pampered by massage therapists and took breaks in between in their serene lounge overlooking soothing greenery whilst sipping on herbal tea and noshing on healthy spa snacks.
After our Spa afternoon, we headed over to Equus Restaurant for a healthy Tasting Menu specially created by the Chef, to compliment our Spa treatments.
The menu created for us was thoughtfully crafted with a great balance of vegetables, both raw and cooked and lightly prepared protein. Dessert was a healthful creation of water chestnuts and coconut.
I really spent a truly delightful day at Castle Hotel & Spa. I think it is the perfect spot to take a break from the busyness of the city. It’s amazing how in such a short time, one is transported to what seems like a totally different world that offers a fabulous experience all around.
Here is some of what we ate:
