Duzan Mediterranean Grill on Steinway Street in Astoria is a casual Middle Eastern eatery serving some super fresh eats.
Owned by Palestinian native Hasan Diab who grew up the Galilee, he is trying to recreate the flavors of his childhood with foods that he grew up with.
Duzan is known for its chicken shwarma, which Hasan creates using 21 spices. The chicken is super tender and moist and is probably one of their top sellers. However the menu goes much beyond just the shwarma. I had a really fresh and zesty Fattoush and a simply superb Baba Ganough.
Duzan caters to all of its local community from the Arabs, to Greeks to all others who come in for its delicious eats. Hasan (and everyone else there) is so friendly and they make you feel right at home.
I don’t know about you but I seem to be getting a ‘Duzan” craving right about now!
