Khao Nom is the latest sensation in Elmhurst’s little Thai food paradise.
This dessert and noodle focussed spot opened by the owners of the super successful Khao Kang, offers a concise menu.
There are a lot of Thai flavored desserts and a small menu of savories.
The must try dish are the “Chan Noodles” which are made up of tangy flat noodles, slightly reminiscent of pad Thai but with much more of a tamarind punch. This is topped with two jumbo prawns perfectly charred, which keeps you wanting for more.
We did try a few other items off the savory menu of which none stood out. However the “Bahn Xeio” though did have an exceptional crispy pancake.
The pastry case at Khao Nom is stockpiled with an array of colourful desserts where flavours such as “Pandan” and “Coconut” abound.
We tried Pandan Cake which was like little bites of heaven. Also, do try their “Coconut Custard” within which are buried spoonsful of tapioca pearls and corn.
