Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi comes from a long lineage of chefs. He began his initial training at his family owned restaurant Fukujuya, in Hasuda City which is a century old.
Chef Seki Shi of Sushi Seki has introduced a marvelous dining concept at his flagship Time Square location. The “Kappo Room” is a stunning space where one is privy to Chef Rikimaru showcasing his skills in an open kitchen.
Chef Seki Shi has established his brand as one of the premium sushi houses in New York City since the inception of Sushi Seki in 2002. The resounding success of Chef’s endeavors has since led to a Chelsea branch and his flagship location in Times Square.
Michelin starred chef Yoshihiko Kousaka of Jewel Bako fame now owns Kosaka in the West Village.
The brand new Natsumi Tapas brings together a perfect fusion of Japanese and Italian flavors on what can only be described as art on a plate.

Masahru Morimoto’s imposing iron chef personality sure does translate into his restaurant.
His sprawling, modern, cavernous restaurant is quite magnificent. One of the most striking elements is the wall made of bottles filled with clear liquid, which has an interesting play of lights on it. There is a very funky bar area downstairs alongside some really cool bathrooms. Continue reading

Special notes: As of January 2011, Chef Yasuda has moved to Tokyo to open a restaurant there. However the quality of Sushu Yasuda seems to have been unaffected by this move.
