Must try: SPICY TUNA EGGS Benedict

Co-Op Food & Drink is the new hot spot in the Lower East Side. This hipster hang out is dressed with jazzy décor, which has a very clubby feel. The big dining room at the back is decorated with giant portraits of New York icons such as Debbie Harry, Betsey Johnson and so on.

The pitch here is to eat in community. One is encouraged to order food that is to be shared. They also have a beautifully written piece on their wall, which promotes the oneness and connectedness of all of us, which is pretty cool.

The food is good. The menu is well thought out with great creations from a really skilled team of chefs, John Kelle of Le Bernardin/ Nobu and Neo Wong of Sushi of Gari, Megu and Sushi Hana fame.

The menu is a combination of American brassiere and sushi. You must try the Spicy Tuna Eggs Benedict – it was really good!  Pass on the Mofongo & Shrimp Benedict – it was a hodgepodge of things that really made no impact on the plate.

“Feed your imagination. Indulge your soul” – prompts Co-Op Food & Drink. I think this might be quite the spot to do that in.
