Must try: Oysters, Lobster Roll, Scallops
In 1997, Rebecca Charles debuted the lobster roll in New York City at her seafood haven called Pearl Oyster Bar.
The inspiration for the simple menu is elevated seaside staples she had grown up with during her summers spent with her family in Maine.
This minimal space serves some incredibly fresh seafood. The over-stuffed lobster roll is a must as are the deliciously crispy heap of fries that accompanies it. But don’t skip other seafood offering. I thought the Oysters and scallops were just as impressive as the lobster rolls.
If you are serious about your catch then get there really early because the tables fill up really fast and the wait outside can be abominable! But for seafood this good – I don’t really blame them!
Here is some of what we ate:
Market Oysters
Salt Crusted Shrimp
New England Clam Chowder w/ Smoked Bacon
Lobster Roll with Shoestring Fries
Pan-Roasted Sea Scallops
Hot Fudge Sundae
Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie
