Must try: Disco Tots, Waffle Special

Queens Comfort is a quaint little diner with a difference. Chef Casey Sullivan serves up American comfort food that feels oh so familiar but is with bit of a twist.

The place is hipster yet homey. It feels like it belongs in Brooklyn somewhere but fits right in with the new wave of trendy hangouts like Queens Kickshaw, M. Wells etc. in the LIC/ Astoria neighborhood. The service is great… warm and friendly – just the way we like it. Here is a picture of our wonderful server Michael!

The food is not outstanding but it has potential. Some creations are right on mark like the Waffle Special we had, which had layers of waffle, bacon and egg. They make a nice Disco Fries and serve Stumptown coffee. What had me mystified is why they would serve Lipton Tea (eeks!)…. that really didn’t match up with the affect of the place.

Queens Comfort is what feels to me like “The Little Engine That Could! With a little more time and practice – I really think that this could become a terrific foodie destination!

Here is some of what we ate:

Disco Tots

The Waffle Special

Thick Cut Brioche Custard French Toast

Fried Chicken & Homemade Waffle
