Arepas Café on Urbanspoon

Must try: Reina Arepas

Arepas Café was my first foray into Venezuelan food.

This cheery Astoria based Latin food spot offers at least 20 different kinds of Arepas. You can choose fillings ranging from black beans to baby shark! Some of the popular fillings are carne machada, queen pepiada and guayanesa tropical.

We tried other Venezuelan classics like Chicha – which is a thick, sweetened milk drink that tastes like liquefied rice pudding. Don’t leave without trying their torta tres leches which is not the best I’ve had but was good enough way to finish off the meal! The service is super friendly which brings all the warmth of Venezuela home to Astoria!
