 HinoMaru Ramen is chef Koji Miyamoto’s new Ramen spot in Astoria. Opened by the team behind Spot Dessert Bar and Ember Room, HinoMaru fills a much-needed niche for decent ramen in Queens.

 The menu here offers choices from 8 different regional bowls of ramen. The also have appetizers and a chalkboard listing the specials of the day.

 Does the ramen at HinoMaru stand up to its East Village compatriots? Not really but does it suffice for a local ramen hit – definitely.
