One can get lost amongst the grandeur of the vast temple complexes of Angkor Wat and of Angkor Thom and so much more that dots this landscape.

Just as impressive as the sights is the food . The Khmer cuisine of Cambodia really knocked my socks off!

Cambodian cuisine offers a vast array of flavors that consist of noodles, soups, grilled meats, stir-fries, curries and so much more.

One of the popular ingredients used in Khmer cooking is a blend of spices called “Kroeung” which gives Cambodian curries a rather distinctive flavor from its Thai and Vietnamese counterparts. They also use prahok, a fermented mudfish paste, which is used in practically every Khmer dish.

Some of the its most famous dishes are Fish Amok and the Khmer Red Curry but there is plenty more that must be tried and is popular. Over my next few posts I will share all my food experiences as I traveled this fabulous land.
