Semilla was my most disappointing meal in Paris. I came in with great expectations having read rave reviews about Juan Sanchez and Drew Harré’s contemporary bistro serving market-driven plates.

It was my first meal in Paris and we went for lunch and I would say it is highly overrated. Don’t get me wrong – the food was good but I felt it just didn’t have enough oomph in it.

We tried their “Trio of Carrots” dish, which sounded really good, but I thought was lacking in flavor. I felt that all the dishes we ordered pretty much continues in the same vein.

The space is lovely as is the vibe and they have some fine looking chefs manning that kitchen but I sure wish I had been blown away by the food just as much as I was the “scenery”.
