Luxor is where you will see the grand temples of Karnak and Luxor.
You will need to take a break in the midst of all this sightseeing and there is no better food destination than Sofra, which is located in the heart of Luxor
Set in a charming old 1930s Egyptian house the restaurant is divided into three dining rooms and the main salon area
The interiors and interestingly done with antique oriental furniture and knick-knacks.
Sofra, which means dining table in Arabic, really has a menu filled with excellent eats. Offering traditional Egyptian eats, cooked with a lighter touch – the food here really tastes like its served in a home.
You must try the fresh juices at Sofra – they were really excellent as was the fish Saydiya – my favorite dish there.
Basically everything we had at Sofra was really excellent – I just wish I had eaten more!
Here is some of what we ate:
BREAD
FRESH JUICES
SOFRA MÉZZES
SAYADEYET SAMAK
KOUSHRY
