Woori Korean, Flushing, NYC

The recently opened Woori Korean Restaurant in Flushing might be some of the best, homestyle Korean food I have tried recently.

It is helmed by owner Naihwan Chang who has decades of experience in the industry spanning restaurants across Korea and New York City. Woori Korean is his first solo venture and I have to say that every dish we tried was nothing less than fantastic.

What I loved most about his spot is that most things are made in house and from scratch. The tofu and noodles are definitely worth trying. They even make their own “katsu” sauce here which we promptly packed and took home.

We ordered the house made tofu which is excellent as was their signature “Seafood Soup” which has fresh seafood, hand pulled noodles and tofu.

Another favorite was their “Seafood Pancake” which was chockful of seafood and really tasty.

Woori Korean Restaurant really stands out in what it brings to the table. Despite the tough competition in Queens, I think that Chef Chang has managed to differentiate himself by adding his unique home-style touch to his menu. This is a spot that is definitely worth checking out!

Here is some of what we ate:

Tofu

Japchae

Seafood Pancake

Spicy Pork Bibimbap

Banchan

Korean Corn Donuts
