Bittersweet – The Chocolate Café, on Fillmore street in San Francisco, is an ideal place that really hits a chocoholic and bond-aholics spot! This is the kind of place that every street corner in the world should have. A delightful little café that serves up perfectly sized choco-filled desserts to go with all kinds of yummy drinks hot or cold. Bittersweet is a definite must do if you are in and around the Fillmore area in SFO. Grab your best buddy and be prepared to spend a day of true decadence that will be so worth your while.
Here are some of the things we tried:
These perfectly sized little chocolate beauties were outstanding. It was just the right size and amount to chocolate to quell that chocoholic craving and yet not leave you feeling guilty for having indulged excessively.
I thought the Spicy Chocolate Truffle was very good. It had a really good kick to it that brought out the flavors of the chocolate. The orange truffle didn’t impress me at all. It tasted sort of bitter and heavy – usually orange and chocolate is such a good combination but in this case – it really didn’t work for me.
CHOCOLATE CENTER MARZIPAN
The Chocolate Center Marzipan was outstanding. It was delicious log of marzipan with a perfectly soft chocolate core. This was the best thing I tried at Bittersweet.
HOT AND COLD DRINKS
We tried a variety of hot and cold drinks. I loved their Spicy Hot Chocolate which was really yummy hot chocolate with a real bite of chili. Their cold chocolate shakes were very good too – thick and heavy but delicious.
