About a year ago, Colette traded in a secure bank job to pursue her passion for food.

She opened a chicken wing joint with a difference in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Leaning heavily on her Trinidadian roots and her mom’s expertise in Caribbean cooking, Colette has created a selection of mind blowing Caribbean flavored chicken wings.

The formula at Super Wings is simple. Colette and her team use the freshest ingredients and cook up every batch individually to give each customer the most delicious wings possible.

With flavors such as Trini-tamarind, Pineapple Jerk, Chili-cilantro and many more, Colette has really transformed the chicken wing into cuisine.

Its no wonder that Super Wings has been rapidly gaining an almost cult following.

In this past year, Colette Burnett has won the Best Chicken Wings in Brooklyn Contest and the Throwdown Challenge with Bobby Flay.

Now you know that she must be doing something right.

So hurry on down to Crown Heights to sample some of her amazing wings because as I’m typing this, her lines are getting longer and longer…and I’m getting hungrier and hungrier!

Here is some of what we ate:

TRINI TAMARIND

This flavor is one of their most popular and signature items. It has jus the right amount of heat that blends so well with the tangy taste of tamarind.

LAVA

At Super Wings, they make a really nice super secret lava sauce which adds a really nice kick to the crispy wings.

GINGER BUFF

This is the flavor that won them the Best Wings in Brooklyn Award. It’s a must try.

PINEAPPLE JERK

These were my favorite wings. It had a really nice spicy kick to it, which was perfectly tempered with the fruity pineapple taste.

CHILI CILANTRO

Anything that has chilies and cilantro in it, works really well with me. These wings were outstanding.

SPINACH BITES AND MANGO SALAD

I loved their spinach bites. These little fried balls of chickpea flour and spinach give a really nice break from the zany flavors going on in the wings. The mango salad was really good too.
