Fresh Fanatic Bakery by Chef Michael Allen

Fresh Fanatic Bakery by Chef Michael Allen

I was invited to cover an exclusive tasting event showcasing the upcoming launch of The Fresh Fanatic Bakery by Chef Michael Allen. The event was held at the B3 Lounge at Body By Brooklyn, showcasing desserts by famed Pastry Chef Michael Allen and Thanksgiving accented foods catered by The Fresh Fanatic Market and Café.

Chef Michael Allen is a second-generation baker. His journey in the art of pastry making has taken him from being chef at renowned places like the Water’s Edge, Essex House and the United Nations – to name just a few. His talent has offered him the opportunity to travel around the United States and to other countries, where he continued to expand his art.

Eventually Michael Allen opened his own bakery/patisserie in the Clinton Hill area in Brooklyn, called Desserts by Michael Allen. His bakery is known to serve some of the finest homemade sweet treats in the area.

Michael Allen is now teaming up with the owners of Fresh Fanatic Market and Cafe, which is an amazing natural and organic food market in Clinton Hill. This 7,000-square-foot boutique supermarket features all kinds of upscale yet affordable groceries and organic foods. They also specialize in artisanal cheeses, fresh seafood, meats and catering for all occasions. We sampled some of their thanksgiving side dishes which were delicious.

Chef Michael Allen seems to have found a perfect fit for his vision of creating fresh, vibrant baked goods with an emphasis on gluten free products. He says that Fresh Fanatic is such a great name because they really are “fanatical” about bringing great food to the customers. Chef Michael Allen will be handling all the desserts, baked goods, breads etc. in this venture.

It seems to me that having Fresh Fanatic Market and Cafe and Desserts by Michael Allen under one roof, is definitely a winning combination.
