Bayerischer Donsil is one of the oldest pubs, which is located right off the famous Marienplatz in the heart of the shopping area in Munich.
This old time tavern is bright and airy and offers endless seating that spans two floors. It is decorated with elements and art that really give you a sense of German tradition. Cheery waiters and waitresses who are dressed in traditional German dirndls serve you.
The food served here is nothing outstanding. It offers standard pub fare that is quite average.
Bayerischer Donsil provides a nice space to take a break from all the modern stores that surround this area, and step into a time warp that takes you back to what used to be in Germany.
Here is some of what we ate:
ASPARAGUS SOUP & PRETZELS
ASPARAGUS WITH HOLLANDAISE, POTATOES AND PARMA HAM
WEISSBRAST
ROAST PORK WITH KNUDEL AND MUSHROOM SAUCE
