Must try: Peekytoe Crab Dumplings , Goat Cheese Royale
Jean–Georges is Vongerichten’s flagship restaurant offering the ultimate destination for a fine dining experience. Having garnered a stunning four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean–Georges is definitely on any elites “to do” list.
The seasonal French menu offers carefully crafted dishes using market ingredients with Asian and American influences. You must try the Peekytoe Crab Dumplings and their homemade marshmallow!
For me, Jean–Georges failed to dazzle. I cant quite put my finger on it but I wasn’t as impressed as I expected to be. The food was very good as was the service but somehow the experience just didn’t impress me. I thought Jean–Georges didn’t quite match up to Daniel or Eleven Madison Park. Now those are meals that have been etched in my mind forever.
Still, one can’t quite ignore all its accolades and critical acclaim. I would recommend trying the pre-fixe lunch where one can have a 2 course meal for $38.
