The landmark Litchfield Inn is a really delightful place to stay at, in the charming town of Litchfield, Connecticut. The Bantam Bistro is the in-house dinning spot located within the hotel.
The kitchen is run by Executive Chef Michael Szoldra, who sources all the ingredients from local, organic farm-stands.
I found the food at Bantam to be a bit temperamental. Our dishes seemed to be overly heavy with too much butter and salt. My crab cake was so salty that I had to return it. They did have a really nice salad and the chicken was pretty good too. The staff however were unbelievably friendly and helpful.
The Bantam Bistro is wonderful spot to wind down ones day in truly warm and homey surroundings.
Here is some of what we ate:
Organic Kale Caesar Salad
Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
Crisp Calamari
Lamb & Veal Bolognese
