Life around the marketplace in Bagan – Myanmar’s most beautiful city

Bagan might have been my favorite place to visit in Myanmar. This ancient city is replete with over 2200 remaining temples, pagodas and monasteries (out of a possible 4,400).

The sights and sounds of Bagan are so glorious that one truly has to experience it to understand it. There is a sacred energy that’s runs through the core of this place that is unbelievable.

Bagan is located on the banks of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River which feeds a whole ecosystem of lives lived on and around the river.

There are many local places to eat at in Bagan but what touched me most was the food scene at the local market and life being shared with each other in the tea shops.
