Must try: Corn roasted with tomato, basil & corn cream, Tagliatelle, Milk and Honey

Chef Daniel Humm and Restaurateur Will Guidara have created a perfect solution for those who cant make it into the critically acclaimed Eleven Madison Park.

They have fashioned “prêt” version at The NoMad which is not too shabby!

The menu at the NoMad offers inventive and artful cuisine, which is rather reminiscent of what one experiences at Eleven Madison Park. However, the overall experience is not even close!

So lets talk about the food. Overall I thought it was quite exceptional. There were dishes that just blew me away like the Corn……butternut squash.. the crab tagliatelle and the brilliant dessert called Milk and Honey.

There were disappointments like the scallops which were overcooked and accented with vegetables that were bland and ineffective.

The ambiance at the NoMad was a bit confusing. The restaurant is fashioned around a brightly lit atrium, which is surrounded by a series of dimly lit rooms. It all felt little incongruous to me.

The service was good but much more lax than what one expects from a Daniel Humm production.

However the food is what I would keep going back for. Chef Humm has taken the glory of perfection on the plate from his previous masterpiece and made it approachable and casual enough for all to enjoy.

Here is some of what we ate:
