Danny Meyer and Chef Nick Anderer have hit it out of the ballpark again with Marta!
This duo that was behind the success of Maialino have come together to create a pizza shop done right in the midst of New York City!
Marta sets itself apart as it is all about finely crafted Roman-style pizza with crusts as thin as can be and toppings that speak to ones soul.
Anderer uses a state of the art wood-burning grill to fire up these delicious beauties, which gives them a perfect crispness on the paper-thin crusts.
Of course Pizza is not all they serve at Marta but it is mostly what you should stick to. They do have other Roman style appetizers and dishes, some of which are rather good. I really enjoyed their “Bruschetta Strappata” and “Cicoria”.
Marta is high on price, low on ambiance but its hard to find an empty table as New Yorkers are lining up to get a piece of these trendy pies! Maybe you should too….
