I finally got to trying David Chang’s fried chicken sandwich and let me tell you that it really is all its’ cracked up to be!

Fuku, in the East Village, has pretty much a singular purpose – delivering a grand piece of chicken, which has been marinated in habanero purée and buttermilk, dredged, fried to crispy perfection and served in what seems like a suggestion of a Martins potato roll. I say “suggestion” because the ratio of bread to fried chicken is almost 1:2 and gosh that works so well.

You may choose to top your sandwich off with coleslaw and there is Ssam Sauce on hand if you prefer a bit of sweetness. There are other items on the menu at Fuku like fries etc but really – all you need is one of these piping, hot and crispy chicken sandwiches.

I can tell you – I am a fan for sure!
