A tiny spot in Midtown, serves up delicious Mediterranean fare.
As you walk into Omar’s Mediterranean Cuisine, you can smell the scent of marinated chicken shawarma roasting on two massive spits.
The seating is really elegant and spacious, with beautiful fresh flowers set on every table, alluring paintings on the wall and sophisticated chandeliers soaring high above the restaurant.
We started our meal off with the tangy mango juice – sweet and light. It was perfectly refreshing.
We were then served warm pita bread with rich hummus drizzled with bright green olive oil, roasted eggplant with cilantro and basil, and cucumber yogurt salad. Great appetizers to start with!
We then tasted the chicken kabab, which had a platter of cubes of chicken and chicken shawarma. We also ordered the rack of lamb, the chicken adana and the spicy lamb chop straight from the Mediterranean Charcoal Grill. The rack of lamb was ground lamb meat mixed with spicy jalapeños.
We finished our meal with Baklava and strawberries!
I’d definitely come here again and recommend this place to family and friends!
