Rubirosa is one of the most beloved pizzerias in New York City. It is definitely on every “Best of” list and is so much more than just a pizza place.
Co-owned by Chef Angelo “A.J.” Pappalardo and Al Di Meglio, Rubirosa is a family affair. The recipe for their outstanding thin crust pizza dates to the sixties where it began with a family recipe at Joe and Pat’s Pizzeria in Staten Island.
Located in Nolita, this rustic space echoes warmth and comfort. Rubirosa offers a menu of artistically created antipasti, pastas, entrees and more. Their simple, thin-crust pizzas are just fantastic with the vodka one being my favorite. The perfect char on the crust is just incredible to bite into.
You must try their ‘Bruschetti’ – they have varying toppings of which the wild mushroom was a winner.
Pastas here are made in-house but were not my favorite part of the meal. You cannot have a bad meal at Rubirosa. There is just too much to love in this place. Go check it out – I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
