Wus Wonton King is perhaps one of the grandest, most memorable Cantonese meals I have had in New York City.

If you can get a large group together, then the whole suckling pig meal, which has to be pre-ordered, is not to be missed.

The Dungeness crab, another stand out, is brought live to the table before it is offed to be prepared in three different ways. This again is a dish that is worth ordering if you have many to share with.

The crowds come for the glistening ducks with crisp skin that give way to the juicy meat within. They make a really great chicken too that is topped with crisp shallots and garlic.

The owner Derek Wu from the Guangdong Province of China, manages Wu’s along with three chefs, each being in charge of a different part of the kitchen. The results are quite stupendous.

The wontons are king here! Super thin-skinned coverings enclose tender meat best eaten in a flavorful broth.
