From the Capital to NYC! Georgetown Cupcake, Washington, DC.’ s renowned cupcakery, owned by sisters Katherine and Sophie, has made its debut here.

Housed in a large, cheerful space on Mercer Street in SoHo, cupcakes swirl in happily decorated walls and signature pink boxes that mark their brand. One is greeted with multiple rows of daintily decorated sweet treats. Their cupcakes remind me of a San Francisco favorite – Miette.

The service is super friendly and they do a wonderful free giveaway everyday. You just have to tell them what the secret flavor of the day is (which they tweet out or put on their Facebook page) and voila…. you walk out with a yummy freebie!

The cupcakes taste wise are really not that remarkable. It doesn’t compare to a place like Molly’s Cupcakes which has some serious flavors going on!

However, Georgetown Cupcakes is that kind of place which takes you back to all that’s charming about cupcakes. It makes you want to call up your best girl friends and have a little tea party, just like you did way back then!
