Chao is a relative newcomer on the Chennai dining scene. Located on North Boag road in T Nagar, this food spot offers a rather extensive menu from South East Asia focusing on Thai, Singaporean & Vietnamese cuisine.

 Decorated with neat, modern interiors with big Buddha motifs, Chao offers a pretty decent range of food for its price point.

 The food is nothing outstanding. I found the appetizers to be much better than the main course ( which actually was rather disappointing) . Do try the wasabi prawns – they were the best dish of the night – other than that nothing else was remarkable.

 All in all Chao is a decent enough place with passable food for a night out in town.
