Everyone has heard about the “Ramen Burger” but have you heard about heard about this tiny shop nested on an East Village pavement selling Japanese style “Rice Burgers”?

Yonekichi is peddling this novel concept in New York City. The menu offers what they call “Yone Burgers” with fillings that range from miso salmon to bbq eel. They even have veggie options.

They recommend a side of their “Furi Furi” potato wedges, which come with a “secret” flavoring.

I have to honestly say that I didn’t love the “Yone Burgers”. The idea is much better than the taste of what I tried. Another problem is that they take really long to make up each order and there really isn’t anywhere to sit and wait.

I think they could do really well if they just amp up their flavors a bit and work of speeding things up. The idea is wonderful – it just needs a little better execution.
