Tucked away on a quiet corner on the Upper West Side is Andanada 141, a Michelin-Starred restaurant serving real Spanish food!
The awesome folks at Tabelog recently invited me, along with several of their top food influencers, to an exclusive tasting of the talented Chef Manuel Berganza innovative cuisine.
We were treated to several courses of Chef’s modern interpretations of tapas followed by Paella and ofcourse dessert. There was so much I enjoyed at this tasting but lets start with some that really hit home for me.

The “Nidos De Codorniz” – a potato nest with chicken liver pate and a soft boiled quail egg was a beautifully composed dish playing with a myriad of textures and flavors, all of it coming together in a single, simple bite.
I loved the “Bravas Tradition” which was served with a choice of three sauces – I must say the “Brava Cayena” really had a nice kick to it!.
The “Pulpo a la Gallega” – a mosaic of octopus over potato foam and rapini was not just art on a plate but a colorful combination of flavors that melded together beautifully.
The entrée consisted of a nicely executed “Paella de Mariscos” made with market fish, shrimp, calamari, mussels, cockles.
The desserts brought on a super moist almond cake with raspberries and extra virgin olive oil gelato which was a perfect ending to a truly wonderful evening.
Here is some of what we ate:
