One of the best meals I had whilst visiting Inle was at Ann’s Intha House. This traditional Intha home that has been in Tin Tin Ye (Ann’s) family for over a century now.

Inle Lake is the second largest, freshwater lake in Myanmar. The lake is 13.5 miles long and about 7 miles wide but when one is on it, it appears to be seamless.

Bagan might have been my favorite place to visit in Myanmar. This ancient city is replete with over 2200 remaining temples, pagodas and monasteries (out of a possible 4,400).
The sights and sounds of Bagan are so glorious that one truly has to experience it to understand it. There is a sacred energy that’s runs through the core of this place that is unbelievable.
The Strand Cafe at The Strand Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar
The Strand Hotel in Yangon is one of Myanmar’s best known hotels. Reminiscent of the country’s Colonial past, this Victorian style building offers the promise of old world luxury and charm.
In my opinion, the hotel is teetering, tacky and is heavily reliant on a grand past.

Monsoon is a superb Southeast Asian restaurant in Yangon, which has an emphasis on seafood. Housed in a gorgeous colonial building, this cheerful and airy restaurant offers refuge to local residents, expats and tourist alike.
The Governor’s Residence, Yangon, Myanmar
Governor’s Residence, run by the Orient Express Group, is the most beautiful place one can stay at in Yangon. This used to be the official residence for previous Governors from the British Colonial period, which has now been converted into a stunning hotel.

Completely unspoiled in landscape and culture – it’s people are this country’s greatest gift. Deeply rooted in their Buddhist beliefs, this culture has preserved an honesty, purity and integrity that is rarely found in today’s day.

The Tastemade event @Food 52 Headquarters, New York City
I spent this past Sunday at a really cool event hosted by Tastemade & Food 52.
The event was at the Food 52 headquarters, which is such an awesome space – a perfect congregation site for fervent foodies such as myself. It really embodies it mission of “bringing cooks/ foodies together from all over to exchange recipes and ideas and to support each other in the kitchen”
