Ca’ Rainene olive oil from the Paolo Bonomelli Boutique Olive Farm

I recently received a bottle of the award-winning Ca’ Rainene olive oil which comes from the olive trees of Paolo Bonomelli Boutique Olive Farm. Nestled in the Torri del Benaco, on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, called “Riviera degli Ulivi” (Olive Riviera) which gives this particular blend of olive oil it’s unique properties.

The Paolo Bonomelli Boutique Olive Farm is dedicated to what it calls “from field to bottle” where there is detailed monitoring and care taken to extract the very best quality extra virgin olive oil from their crop. This Ca’ Rainene olive oil is now available in the United States exclusively through Eataly in New York City.

Get yourself a bottle or two– you won’t regret it.

Cooking w/ Chef Hooni Kim at De Gustibus, Midtown, NYC

Last week I spent a remarkable evening at De Gustibus – the upscale cooking school housed on the 8th floor of Macy’s. De Gustibus has one of the most impressive line-ups of celebrity chef’s who come in to demonstrate their culinary talents in a casual and intimate setting. Participants get to observe, interact and partake in a full course menu with wine pairings amongst a delightful cohort of gastro-enthusiasts. I spent the evening with my blogger friends Jean-Philippe from I Just Want to Eat  and Cindy from Chubby Chinese Girls Eats

I was recently privy to an incredible tasting event hosted by Chef Chris Jaeckle, Nick Solares of Eater, Journee and De Gustibus Cooking School. We had the opportunity to sample several cuts of Olive Fed Wagyu Beef from the island of Shodishima in Japan.

Mansion Restaurant, Upper East Side, NYC

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to try a delicious local eatery called Mansion Restaurant a spot that put me in a food coma after everything I ate, but it was so worth it!

Our dinner began with french toast – who said you can’t have breakfast fro dinner? We tried their cinnamon fresh toast with whipped cream and fresh strawberries on top. It was delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

The City of Gold Movie

Friday March 11th, 2016 marks the release of the feature film “ The City of Gold”  featuring Pulitzer Prize winning food critic Jonathan Gold and director Laura Gabbert.

I was recently invited to a preview of the movie at the MoMA, which was followed by conversation with Jonathan and Laura. We also had a follow-up lunch the next day at Mission Chinese.
