Centara Grand at Central World is really a tacky hotel with a great location. Attached to the mammoth Central World Mall, this hotel is a really subpar spot at a high price point. It has no service, grace or charm that one believes Thailand to have.

Life around the marketplace in Bagan – Myanmar’s most beautiful city

 

Bagan might have been my favorite place to visit in Myanmar. This ancient city is replete with over 2200 remaining temples, pagodas and monasteries (out of a possible 4,400).

The sights and sounds of Bagan are so glorious that one truly has to experience it to understand it. There is a sacred energy that’s runs through the core of this place that is unbelievable.

The Strand Hotel in Yangon is one of Myanmar’s best known hotels. Reminiscent of the country’s Colonial past, this Victorian style building offers the promise of old world luxury and charm.

 In my opinion, the hotel is teetering, tacky and is heavily reliant on a grand past.
