The Tastemade event @Food 52 Headquarters, New York City

I spent this past Sunday at a really cool event hosted by Tastemade & Food 52.

The event was at the Food 52 headquarters, which is such an awesome space – a perfect congregation site for fervent foodies such as myself. It really embodies it mission of “bringing cooks/ foodies together from all over to exchange recipes and ideas and to support each other in the kitchen”

Snarf’s is located right by the Edward Jones dome offers a great spot for large groups to grab a decent, affordable meal with great ease.

The sandwiches here are better than your average Subway type of places and the people are really nice.

Urbantag has launched its website and iPhone app today

Hi fellow foodie followers,

I’ve been featured as one of the tastemakers for New York City on this really cool new site called Urbantag which has launched its website and iphone app today.

I’m using urbantag to bookmark and share places I love. I’ve built a great map NYC Hot Spots that you can view here: http://urbant.ag/7TFqq.

We’ve all shared emails and recycled lists of recommended spots – either for an insider’s travel tips to a city, or simply where to eat a good meal in a specific neighborhood. Urbantag gives you a single platform and a beautiful way to share and bookmark places with your trusted network, and discover the world around you.

Check out my map on urbantag at http://urbant.ag/7TFqq

Let me know what you think. Once you follow my map, you can also access on the go by downloading the iPhone app here.

What kind of urbantag maps do you think I should make next?

Lucky Rice Festival: Night Market 2010

DUMBO was alive with the festive smells and tastes of Asia, as the Lucky Rice Festival 2010 held it’s Night-Market event under the archway of the Manhattan bridge.

There were Asian food vendors galore, dishing out yummy samples of their tasty treats to foodies who flooded the event. A lot of the samplings were of street foods that are available at the popular night markets in Asia.

I really enjoyed this event. It was well organized and intimate. Continue reading

Guess what I had tickets for this past week?

Yummalicious……..

We reached around 6:15PM for the event which began at 6:30 PM for the Non-VIP ticket holders (that’s me!!). The line was wrapped around an entire Manhattan city block!!!! It took us almost an hour to reach the entrance! Of-Course I spent the entire hour worrying that there would be no food left for me……Boy was I wrong!

Once we were in……….the ultimate fest in gluttony began! Continue reading
